Tom Cain is a Senior Recruiter with TPM Placement, managing the recruitment process and client relationships.
Tom leverages his extensive experience in recruitment, financial services, management consulting, and digital transformation to serve our clients. Before joining TPM Placement, Tom specialized in hiring C-suite leadership for a variety of financial institutions, ranging from global investment managers to niche private equity firms. He approaches every recruitment project, no matter how big or seemingly small, with the same tenacity and care for the organizational impact that every hire can make.
Across his career, Tom has partnered with internal recruitment teams and managers to identify ways to optimize talent acquisition beyond simply identifying the right candidates. Sometimes, this involves reframing how a role is imagined to better meet the organization’s needs or simply helping clients adopt more efficient processes for attracting and retaining top-quality talent. Tom brings a level of wealth industry insight to each search that helps him build credibility with potential candidates, zero in on traits and skills that will be valuable for the firm’s needs, and speak earnestly to the needs of both candidates and clients for a successful, lasting hire.
Tom graduated from Belmont University with a major in History and a double minor in English and Philosophy. He was a contributing member of Phi Alpha Theta, a history honors society, and maintains a strong intellectual appetite for history of every stripe. In his spare time, Tom enjoys studying trends in technology, financial services regulation, and classic literature. If he’s not reading, then he is likely practicing his (currently limited) Spanish and Portuguese.
